Does anyone have knowledge and/or experience of the first, middle and high school in the Dorchester area? We have an ASD/high functioning aspie boy who we will be looking at applying this Autumn for middle school. Plus hyper twins, one of which is likely mild dyslexia and sensory issues; they will need a First school. None have EHCPs so looking for schools who are open to supporting those who don't bring extra money for the school and understanding staff with experience of SN.
Looking for opinions on First schools and the 3 Middle schools and also thoughts on Thomas Hardy high school please.
We are looking to move to this area.
Thank you in advance.
Hi Mumtothree. We are at Prince of Wales in Dorchester and it's a lovely primary school. I'm guessing this is what you mean by First School? Very good with dyslexia.
An old colleague of my husbands had a child at Thomas Hardye spoke well of the school. It is very big but the pastoral care is very strong and they have some specialism for certain SEN conditions I believe so well worth checking them out. There are some specialist schools in the area like Linwood and Portfield are good too but sounds like your child doesn't need that level of support. Good luck with your search.
