Not strictly school related but school break related. We were planning to go away over Easter for a week but now with coronavirus it looks like it's not going to happen and we will have to cancel. I'm already dreading the long school break ahead. I have two children - one with ASD and one with suspected ASD (still in the process of diagnosis). I usually try to plan something but it hasn't worked out this time. What do you do? Any suggestions how to survive over two weeks at home would be very welcome!

Hi maljour. I think establishing good routine is key. Perhaps sit down with them and get them to buy into it? Even if it's only a walk in the park after breakfast or a movie and ice-cream in the afternoon? Something they can look forward to. I would also start preparing them now in case you have to cancel to avoid meltdowns down the line. Have you looked into any local clubs? Perhaps they will still have places? We have some great local clubs which are largely council funded if you have DLA although they get booked very quickly...
