We are moving to Surrey in a few months and need to find a new school for our 12 years old. He is diagnosed with moderate dyslexia. He is doing well (he is currently in a small independent in the North). Our friends in the South are not very positive about his chances of getting into a good independent school there. We’ve missed 11+ now so will have to try 13+. Many schools seem to be ok with dyslexia on paper but we know from previous experience that the reality is often very different. I’ve found a few potential options on the site. Epsom College? St John’s in Leatherhead? Reeds in Cobham? Anyone knows them?

I wouldn't recommend Epsom College Ginger. They are not great for SEN. Like many schools they claim to be but they are very much focused on improving their ratings and they prefer boarders anyway. I've heard it's much easier to get in if you opt to board or at least flexiboard. Are you planning to board?
Lol. It is bad. We are in private sector too and I cry every months when our direct debit goes out! It's worth it though but defo
Thank you Anna! Just looked them... and yes... ouch! Their fees are a bit painful...
I don't know these schools personally but one of my friends has a son with dyslexia who is at St John's and very happy. They are very supportive and his GCSCs results were really good. Not the cheapest option I believe but sounds like a great school! x
